Meet the Movement

Queer in Cannabis (QIC) is where cannabis culture and social activism proudly collide. Founded by queer and Chicano leader Rich Magaña, QIC exists to honor and amplify the LGBTQIA+ advocates whose courage, compassion, and activism helped shape the cannabis movement as we know it today.

QIC connects queer consumers, creators, cultivators, and cannabis professionals while advocating for greater representation and equity across the industry. Through storytelling, education, events, and community programming, we preserve the history of those who came before us and celebrate the people continuing that work today. Our TrailBLAZER series puts those stories front and center, recognizing the advocates, activists, and icons whose contributions to cannabis and LGBTQIA+ history deserve to be remembered.

As a proudly queer- and Latin-owned organization, QIC is committed to visibility, advocacy, and giving back. We celebrate our communities and preserve the shared history that connects cannabis and LGBTQIA+ activism while creating opportunities for people to learn, gather, and support one another.
