Manifesto

In a world where cannabis culture meets social activism, Queer in Cannabis (QIC) shines as a welcoming hub of community, education, and activism. Founded by Rich Magana, this collective is a heartfelt nod to the LGBTQIA+ Advocates and trailBLAZERS who’ve made a HUGE impact on the cannabis world. 

Our mission is simple; to provide LGBTQIA+ cannabis history to the cannabis community, be a fierce advocate for marginalized folks in and outside of the dispensary and provide safe spaces with community engagement for the queer+ community. 

This year QIC has two strategies to give back:

1. Regional Focus - QIC understands the importance of partnering on a community level. Advocating regionally gives us the opportunity to help neighboring organizations like Worcester Pride & The Massachusetts Transgender Political Coalition, both non-profits that have been extremely successful at supporting and building a vibrant LGBTQIA+ community. Both are also experiencing lack of funding from traditional corporate donors. 
2. National Focus - for a wider reach, this year we will be supporting The Trevor Project whose mission is to end suicide among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning young people. We will also be supporting Advocates for Trans Equality, a trans-led non-profit that navigates the realities of law and policy through vital tools, knowledge, and services. 

Queer in Cannabis is grateful for your support. With your help, we will be able to provide more community engagement locally. We will be able to fund to build better laws to protect the LGBTQIA+ community and create safe spaces and resources for our queer+ family, friends and colleagues.
